The Amelia Plantation Chapel Men’s Fellowship provides opportunities for service and fellowship, not only within the chapel family, but also in our community. In the hymn, “Rise Up O Men of God,” we are challenged by these words “Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things; Give heart and mind and soul and strength, To serve the King of kings”. We believe that men should be given the opportunity to exercise their gifts and strengths in serving not only our church but the community in which we live. The Men’s Fellowship seeks to provide these opportunities through fellowship and service functions.
Purpose Statement for the APC Men’s Fellowship: To honor Jesus Christ and to promote the Gospel of Christ both within our Chapel family and in the community in which we live through:
- Serving one another
- Encouraging one another
- Bearing one another’s burdens
- Stimulating one another to love and good works
- Demonstrating loving and sacrificial relationships
- Affirming the value of and encouraging the employment of each member’s gifts and strengths to build up the Body of Christ
- Engaging in a variety of activities and projects that provide an arena in which to demonstrate all of the above
Hebrews 10: 24-25 says “Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each on, especially as we see the big day approaching.” (From The Message).
In addition to the Men’s Breakfast held at 7:30am on the second Friday of each month, various events are planned through the year such as BBQs, Oyster Roasts, attending sporting events, fishing charters, and service opportunities. These events are published on our website, in Footprints and the Sunday bulletins. We look forward to your participation.
