Pastor's Biography
  • Ted Schroder was born in 1941, in Hokitika, New Zealand, and has lived in the United States since 1971 and became an American citizen ten years later. He was educated at Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand, and his graduate work at the University of Durham, England. Ordained in St. Paul's Cathedral, London to be the Assistant Curate of All Souls, Langham Place, he became Chaplain of the Polytechnic of Central London (now University of Westminster).
  • After moving across the Atlantic he assumed the position of Dean of the Chapel at Gordon College, Massachusetts. In 1976 he moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and then pastored Grace Church, Orange Park. From 1986 he was Rector of Christ Church, San Antonio, Texas, until 2000, when he returned to Florida to minister at Amelia Plantation Chapel. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pennsylvania. He has been married to Antoinette, a South Carolina native and Bronte scholar, since 1970, and they have two daughters, and three grandchildren.
  • He is a bibliophile, his favorite philosopher is Soren Kierkegaard, and he enjoys playing tennis. His life verse is 1 Corinthians 9:16, "Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!"
