3:00 pm: Choir Practice

Resumes this Tuesday, September 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Meeting Room. This fall's study will be Waiting: A Bible Study on Patience, Hope, and Trust by Sharla Fritz.

"FBI": Fellowship of Bible Investigators is on Sundays, from 10:15 - 11:00 a.m. in the Upper Room. The class uses The New City Catechism: God's Truth for Our Hearts and Minds by Dr. Timothy Keller to help children build a strong foundation in biblical truth and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith.

Sign-ups for the fall Chapel Tables are now available in the Narthex and the Chapel office. Chapel Tables are small groups of individuals and couples who meet once a month for lunch or dinner. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new members and get to know other members better. Please complete your sign-up sheet and return it to the Chapel office no later than September 30.

We have several openings on our Flower Calendar between now and December. If you’ve been thinking about donating towards the altar flowers in honor or memory of someone special, now is a wonderful time to reserve a date.

As we approach the holiday season, we encourage everyone to be vigilant and watchful for potential scams. Unfortunately, scammers may send emails or messages pretending to be a Chapel staff member or member of our congregation. If you receive a suspicious email or message from someone you believe may be posing as a member of our Chapel family, please contact the Chapel office so we can be made aware and help alert others if necessary. Please remember: The Chapel will never ask you to purchase gift cards, and we will never ask you to RSVP for a Chapel event through an unfamiliar or suspicious link. Devastating flash flooding killed hundreds of people in Nepal and along the Nepal-Tibet border this week. Well more than 1,000 people remain missing.Samaritan’s Purse has sent a team of disaster relief specialists to Nepal to work with trusted Christian partners on the ground, whom we also worked with after the terrible 2015 earthquake and its aftershocks. Thousands of families are in need. We will focus on emergency feeding, and an airlift of relief supplies is in the works. The flight will include tarps, blankets, solar lights, hygiene kits, and more. Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham posted the following on Facebook on Aug. 26: “The media is calling the scenes of catastrophic flash flooding on the Nepal-Tibet border ‘apocalyptic.’ The numbers are not yet fully known, but more than 150 people are already confirmed dead, with many missing, including hundreds of tourists. … Stranded residents were being rescued off rooftops by helicopter. Take a moment to stop and pray for the people of this region and for families anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones.” The death toll has now risen above 500 (Aug. 28) and is expected to increase. Search-and-rescue operation continue. Scientists believe part of a glacier collapsed to the valley floor of this remote and mountainous region, which caused the equivalent of a 5.2 magnitude earthquake. Such a tremendous landslide pushed a terrifying wall of water down through the narrow river canyons and beyond for many miles, destroying buildings, homes, bridges, and roads.
There are fears of additional flooding in the region.
Please pray for more survivors to be found in the coming hours. Pray for our upcoming airlift and for safe access to bring relief in Jesus’ Name alongside church partners. Finally, lift up families around the world who are grieving the loss of loved ones.

We're looking for a few volunteers to help collect the completed Friendship Pads after the second worship service each Sunday. 

Our Petal Pushers are looking for volunteers to help create and deliver beautiful bouquets from our Sunday altar flowers. These bouquets are delivered to church members who are ill, facing difficult circumstances, or simply in need of a little extra encouragement. Your time and creativity can brighten someone's day and remind them they are loved and prayed for.
